Charles Foust is an executive leadership coach and former superintendent with more than 20 years of experience in public education. He has led large, complex school systems across multiple states, including serving as Superintendent of New Hanover County Schools in North Carolina and Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for driving measurable academic improvement, leading system-wide transformation, and developing strong leadership pipelines.

Foust has overseen districts serving more than 24,000 students and managed budgets of up to $600 million. His leadership has produced double-digit academic gains, improved school performance, and earned recognition at both state and national levels. In New Hanover County, his work led to increased student proficiency and helped position the district among the top-performing systems in the state.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from North Carolina A&T State University, as well as two master’s degrees in Instructional Technology and School Administration. He also earned a Doctor of Professional Leadership from the University of Houston and is currently pursuing an MBA at Wake Forest University.

Today, Foust focuses on coaching and developing education leaders. He partners with superintendents, district teams, and aspiring leaders to strengthen organizational systems, build leadership capacity, and drive sustainable improvements in student outcomes. His work emphasizes strategic alignment, accountability, and long-term success, helping education systems achieve meaningful and lasting impact.
